Last night saw the 30th annual MTV Video Music Awards held in NYC’s Brooklyn Barclay Centre.
With nominees including Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk, Miguel, Beyonce, Lana del Ray, Calvin Harris, Ciara, Chris Brown, JLo (the list could continue for days) there was, of course, a star studded turn out.
With so much ego under one roof, it was only natural for there to be an overly risqué performance from one of the stars. The most stand out of which came from young Miley Cyrus, who shocked the world with her performance of “We Can’t Stop” and a “Blurred Lines” duet with Robin Thicke. Miley’s stage time even left Queen of taboo, Rihanna, who wore an unusually casual fit of jeans and jumper, to give her the side eye. Drake also kept his head down throughout and the famous Smith clan were filmed looking on in horror at the BANGERZ star.
This nights performances went something like this: Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Drake, Jennifer Hudson, big winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Justin Timberlake… probably the most monumental- an N Sync reunion and a closing performance from Katy Perry.
